"Call It Off"

Lately, Violett and I have been mucking about outside since it has been a little nicer.  Yesterday, however, was a poopy day with poopy snow on the poopy ground and when she gets outside in that kind of weather she comes in freezing and soaking wet to the core.  She just won't stay out of the puddles!  I decided it was best to stay inside.  I don't like it when all she does is watch the t.v though, so we turned on the Wii and played a bit.  I made some videos and Violett was playing her part in Wii Music.  All you do is shake the controller about and the Mii will play to your movements.  It was fun.
After that I put on some music so we could get a movin' and a groovin'.  I was singing along to the music like it was American Idol auditions and when I put on the music this morning Violett started to sing along to one song.  "Call It Off" by Tegan and Sara.  It's a really nice song and I'm glad that the camera battery was fully charged.

And now...Ladies and Gentlemen...The One...The Only...Violett as she sings along to "Call It Off" by Tegan and Sara.  (and perhaps I join in too a bit...)

January 15, 2009

January 15th is a special day for us.  It's not only the day we met four years ago, but it's the day we were married as well.  Scott and I met online and we both knew the search was over.  I knew from the moment I saw him that we would be spending our lives together.
One year later we married and it was a lovely little wedding.  I cooked the food and others provided desserts and the photography.  It was very nice to have everyone chip in and help out.
On this third wedding, and fourth meeting anniversary, I decided to bake us a cake.  A black and white cake from my Baking cookbook by Dorie Greenspan.  Scott bought it for Christmas and I love it.  The cake is Devil's Food and the Icing is an Italian Meringue.  I made the whole thing from scratch and it was yumm yumm yummy!
