Random Picture Series

Going after the dog again. He's afraid of her now! Too funny.

Naptime on the couch.
Thank goodness that's over!
She sleeps in her crib at
naptime and bedtime.

Up on the knees!
She's so proud of herself!
The only issue is that she
doesn't know how to get
back down!

Aw, how sweet, Daddy and baby both passed out on the floor.

Finally, a bottle!
You know what that means?
FREEDOM!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!

Rummaging around in the toy box.
I'm sure I'll find her inside
of it soon.

Raspberries and Dancing Cheerios

Here we hare trying some new foods.
So far Violett has eaten basically
simply foods: cheerios, goldfish
and the like. Yesterday we went to
the store after a nice walk to get
some fruit. There were some lovely
raspberries.

I remember giving her raspberries
about a month ago but she didn't
like them. I tried again and she just
loved them.

The only mistake that i didn't realize
i was making until today...too much
fruit for a baby results in a big stinky
you know what! Eeeeewwwwwwww!
Gross. Won't make that mistake
again!

Watch closely for the dance of the cheerios...

The Troublemaker

We bought a new coffee table about a month ago so that Violett could move around the room easier. She first started to crawl under the table and giggled at that. Then she started to reach up and to grab the shelf and anything that was close to the edge.

Onto the pull ups. Pull up, one, two, three! I would put some soft toys there and a soother so that she could learn to reach for things.

Now the shelf is bare and we aren't able to put anything up there because she can reach everything.

Teddy Bear

This is the teddy bear that i have made for my sister. She's been taking care of the kids by herself while Derek is working overtime. They are both working pretty hard so i thought she might like a little something just for her. Just a little note to Ella and Seth: Hands off! Deb, i hope you enjoy this little one.
I know that his eyes are quite large, but they are the only ones i have been able to find so far before resorting to buying them online. Talk about a little creepy.

Daddy loves his baby girl

Even though the film is a little dark, i still had to take this video. They were sitting on the couch together and Violett was laughing hysterically at her Daddy. He just loves her so much and misses her while he's at work. She always smiles when he gives her kisses goodbye and hello. They have a lot of fun together. I can't help but smile when i see them playing together. It's funny how she keeps on looking over at the camera when there is a pause in the laughing.

Another Amigurumi...

Here's my first completed amigurumi animal. It's supposed to be a rat. I found a free pattern online for Remy from Ratatouille. Our friends Goomba and Jennifer are expecting their first baby in about a month and since it's the year of the Rat, they asked for a rat! I had a fairly hard time finding a pattern for a rat, but the helpful villagers on Crochetville sent me helpful links and this was one of them. I changed the pattern only very slightly. I didn't use the chefs hat and there are no fingers and toes, but it's for a baby and she, yes she, won't know the difference. I used two different colours of brown for the body and just a simple pink for the embellishments. I hope the little girl likes him. Does this mean that our other friends will want one for their baby coming up in a few months? Yikes!

Day one, two and three...

Here's the first three days of the big kitty pattern. I'm looking forward to finishing the head. It's gonna look great!
A few other crochet fiends (oops...i mean friends) from Crochetville are making the same pattern. I guess you could say it's a spontaneous crochet along. I've met a few really great people on the forum who love amigurumi as much as i do. I've ordered another amigurumi book! I can't wait for it to come in the mail!
I was looking through my online subscription to a crafting magazine (i know, nerd i am!) and remembered just what it was that sparked the crochet bug in me. It was an amigurumi robot. I still haven't made it, but i've printed out the pattern now that i know how do make more difficult pieces and once i'm done the big kitty i'll make the robot. Here's the link for the robot pattern. I remember going to my mom's stitch n' bitch and asking her friend, Irene, to show me how to make the robot. She laughed a little and said that I would need to learn the basis first. Thanks to Irene, i now know the basics and am loving the wonderful world of crochet. She told me to make her a certificate for teaching me and that's what i did. I emailed the certificate to my mom and she printed it out and gave it to her. Made her day! Thanks Crochet Master Irene!

New project

Here's a big ball of yarn. I am going to make a huge kitty with it. If you are able to read Japanese, use this link to find the pattern. I am starting today and don't know how long it's going to take me to finish it. Wish me luck!

She loves her Wii

This video clip needs no introduction other than she will go after all things that she shouldn't.

Odd Little Baby

video

No one knows why babies do the things they do, but they do it anyway! Violett now has two top teeth and two bottom teeth and i think the reason she makes this noise is due to the new teeth in there. She's so cute and we just love her to bits!

Baby Beret

Here's Violett wearing her
very first hat that i made
for her. I'm not sure if she
likes it, but i sure do!
