A Cheezy Adventure

April 17th is Barry's Birthday and April 29th is Edith's Birthday. This year they decided to have just one party for the both of them. This event took place at Chuck E. Cheese's. I had never been to Chuck E. Cheese's before and am now suffering from arcade withdrawal. I love arcades and always have. I had no idea what to expect when we got to the place and I wasn't disappointed. I was impressed with their pizza too! It was crispy and had a really great garlic note to it. Not greasy at all either! If you're going to eat pizza for breakfast, Chuck E. Cheese's is the way to go. The icing on the cake was super sweet but the cake part was good and Violett loved it. I don't give her too many sweet things, but a few bites here and there aren't going to do her any harm. There were photo booths there that take your picture and turn it into a sketch drawing. Both Scott and I took one with Violett and I brought them home and framed them. I'm going to hang it up in her room. Truly cheezy I know, but they look good!
Anyhoo! Here's a good variety of the pictures we took. There's more of Violett than anyone else, but hey, what'cha gonna do? Some things can't be helped...

I love the look on her face!
This horse not only moved
back and forth like the old-type
horse, but it jumped as well.

She enjoys sitting with Edith.

MMM, cake.

I know it's your birthday
party, Grampa Barry, but
how many pieces of cake
are you gonna eat? Haha,
I decided to be nice and
not post the one with
icing all over your face!

Woo-Hoo!
We're Fighter Pilots!
I didn't realize that if
you pull on the button
the whole thing will
move. Found that
out at the end... :P

Ok, that's enough commentary. Bah, I can't think of anything else to say about the pictures so let them speak for themselves!

Upside Down Pineapple Mini Cakes

Upside Down Pineapple Cake.
MMM, they were dee-lish!
I made these to go along
with my sis'
Black Forest Cake for my
Dad's B-Day. Everyone just
loved them! You can find
the recipe that I use in the
sidebar of the blog.
It's originally an Apricot Marmalade Cake, but I use pineapple instead. Oh, and I don't make the marmalade either, too much work. Apricot Jam works just as well!

Hurrah for Video!

And another video! Here's the video to go along with the Chair Climbing post. Yay!

Spinach Face Video

Here's the priceless video to go along with the Spinach Face pictures. We upped the quality of the videos we were taking on the camera and that made it close to impossible to upload them onto our blog. Thankfully we've figured that out and are trying to find the best way to upload the better videos and still have them big enough to view. Here's the first try. I can't watch the video quality on the blog until I post it so let's have a look...

Climbing on the Furniture

My freedom is now over! I can't go out of the room and leave her on the floor knowing that she'll be safe. :'( (that's me crying).

She has now gotten the hang of climbing up onto Rickys chair and so I now have to take her with me whenever I leave the room because she doesn't know how to get back down again.

Scenes From A High Chair I

Sometimes it's harder to think of what to feed her instead of getting her to actually eat what I give to her. She hasn't wanted to eat her veggies lately other than frozen peas so she hasn't been given any. I found out that when she doesn't want to eat something it's just because I've given it to her a little too often. She swore off bananas a few weeks back and so I waited a while and now she's scarfing them down every day! Kiwi is next on the nix-list I think for the next while too. Broccoli has made it back onto the list as of today. Once a week I buy a big bag of pre-washed spinach. I puree it and add some flavours like orange juice and pine nuts and the like. I usually add it to cream and make a very green coloured pasta sauce with it and she'll scarf it down. Today I had half of the spinach puree left and needed to get her fed. I made the good old stand-by ready in under 10 minutes mac & cheese and tossed in the spinach puree. Voila! I cooled it off and tossed some onto her tray. In no time at all there was none left and she was screaming at me for more, more, more! Crazy baby. This type of dinner always ends in a bath. She had it up her nose and in her eyes.

Tree Frog Amigurumi

This is a Tree Frog that I finally finished. It's from
the Roman Sock website.
Chris and Elisabeth are having their baby in June sometime and I'm glad that I could finish this in time and with time to spare.
Now onto the little pig...
You can find more pics here.

Random Picture Series IV

Violett is such a bed hog.

She was rooting for the Canucks
the night they lost the playoff
race thingy. She looks so cute
in her little jersey.

Mmm, egg salad. You saw
the video right? What a
mess!

She had eaten tomato pasta
with brown beans in it and
decided to spread it all over
her hair. She looks drunk
here.

Summer! Summer!
Can't wait for Summer!
All decked out in her
little tankini ready for the
pool, but it's still too
chilly outside!

Egg Salad Facial

Scott asked for egg salad sammies yesterday
and so i made a kid friendly version.I slapped
some down onto her tray and turned around
to take a bite from my sandwich. This is what
I saw when I turned back to look at her less
than a moment later.
